ARTISTIC DIRECTOR RIVER CITY MIXED CHORUS (RCMC) - Omaha's GLBTA Chorus!
It’s a snap to direct in 4/4 time, 3/4 time, even 2/4 time but are you interested in directing 1/4 time?
Our GLBTA mixed chorus is small but mighty with 26 years of experience and looking for an Artistic Director who is a capable conductor, artistic director and community ambassador to serve in an approximately 10 hour / week commitment to our chorus.
We are a fun, family oriented group with high energy and a commitment to building community and enriching the lives of our members and audiences through our passion for music.
Duties:
- Plan, design, organize, and present two major concerts annually as well as community outreach opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to formulate, implement, and monitor annual and long range plans, goals, and objectives for the Chorus.
- Develop proposed concert budgets and participate in the selection of other artistic staff.
- Oversee and encourage direction and further development of River’s Edge, an outreach ensemble within the Chorus.
Knowledge / Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in music and three years of choral directing experience.
- Experience in planning and implementing concerts, including creative programming skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills, written and oral communication skills, collaborative skills, and organizational skills.
- Musicianship essential for leading weekly rehearsals and developing themed concerts.

This is a contracted, 1/4 time position, salary is commensurate with experience.

- Sample season of programming (concert themes, pieces, composers, arrangers, where and when performed), which can be submitted in list form or with actual concert programs,
- Sample recording of a chorus performance conducted by the applicant. (These will only be used by the search committee and can be archival recordings.)
